The marriage between Ubi Ekapong Ofem, popularly known as Ubi Franklin and Lillian Esoro has legally ended, following years of divorce battle between the record label owner and actress.
Ubi and Lillian Esoro have been married since 2015 but the marriage only lasted about a year as Lillian moved out and filed for divorce. It was rumoured that the Triple MG boss had cheated on his wife a few months into the marriage, which made her want out.
Some other sources claimed Lillian Esoro had issues with Ubi as he never visited her at movie locations. However, some sources claimed their relationship was loveless from the get-go as Ubi was a backup plan after Lillian’s marriage to another Nollywood actor did not materialise.
Words on the street also claimed Lillian was the girlfriend to a popular comedian who got married shortly before getting married to Ubi and that she had rejected Ubi’s proposal until he persuaded her with gestures and gifts.
Despite moving out of her matrimonial home, Ubi Franklin pleaded through social media platforms and asked that his wife return to their marriage but his pleas fell on deaf ears.
Lillian Esoro’s had first filed for a divorce in Lagos which was denied. Ubi Franklin’s was eventually granted in an Abuja court on 28th January 2021.
The now-divorced couple have a 4-year old son together named Jayden.
