Korede Bello’s sojourn as a musician started at the age of 7. At the time, he was known as ‘African Prince’. As a primary school student, Korede Bello wrote his first song with a music group he formed, comprising of himself and a friend.

It wasn’t until he was in secondary school that he started music professionally. His first studio recording ‘Forever’ was released around the time. Korede Bello is a graduate of Mass Communication, a Higher National Degree (HND) he got at the Nigerian Institute of Journalism. He is an associate member of the of Institute of Information Management and also the first Nigeria Police youth ambassador and has an honorary superintendent of police title; a position he has held since 2015.

Despite being a police ambassador and an honorary superintendent of police, Korede Bello joined his voices with millions of Nigerian youths during the #EndSARS protest in Nigeria. The protest, a first of its kind in Nigeria in which Nigerians, mostly youths joined voices, took to the streets to protest against SARS, a now-defunct police unit, notorious for extrajudicial killings, extortion, stealing, harassment and profiling of Nigerians, mostly youths.

Korede Bello was first introduced to Don Jazzy upon the release of his first studio recording by his manager, Casmir Uwaegbute. It wasn’t long until he impressed Don Jazzy after the duo recorded a song together and was signed to Mavin on the 28th of February of 2014. He is one of the most popular faces in the Mavin rank, particularly after the exit of Tiwa Savage and Reekado Banks from the label.
