2Baba whose real name is Innocent Ujah Idibia is an iconic, legendary Nigerian musician, entrepreneur, philanthropist, activist, and humanitarian and one of Africa’s most bankable performing/recording musicians with an estimated net worth of $12.5 million.

Biography & Career

2Baba, formerly known as 2Face Idibia was born in on September 18, 1975, as Innocent Ujah Idibia in Jos (Nigeria). He is a songwriter, record producer, philanthropist, entrepreneur, activist, humanitarian, and regarded as a music legend and one of the greatest musicians ever to come out of Africa.

2Baba, as he is fondly called is from the Idoma ethnic group, an ethnic group in the southern part of the agrarian Benue State of Nigeria. He had his primary school education in Makurdi, the capital of Benue, and then proceeded to the Institute of Management & Technology, Enugu (IMT) where he preliminary ND course in business administration.

He would perform while in school and it wasn’t too long before he dropped out of school to pursue a career in music. While at IMT, 2Baba recorded jingles at the Enugu State Broadcasting Service (ESBS), in 1996. He chose the stage name “2Face (TuFace)” the same year and his reason for the name was that he wanted to separate his business personae from his personal life.

A few years later, 2Face moved to Lagos and started a joint act with BlackFace Naija who was a rapper at the time. The duo met while in a secondary school in Benue. With Blackface and Faze, the Plantashun Boiz, a then Boyz II Men, R&B group who had the Nigerian music industry spellbound.

The group recorded two successful albums Body and Soul (2000) and Sold Out (2003) under Dove Records, owned by Nelson Brown before disbanding to pursue solo careers.

After the demise of the group, 2Face witnessed a massive surge in his career, particularly after the release of his “Face 2 Face” and “Grass to Grace” albums of 2004 and 2006 respectively. He would later go on creating his own record label, Hypertek Entertainment.

Having enjoyed massive success with his singles and albums, 2Face officially changed his stage name in 2016 to 2Baba which he is known by to date.

2Baba got married to Nigerian actress, model, and entrepreneur, Annie Macaulay-Idibia in 2012, in a private event in Lagos. They would later go on to have a white wedding that had many high-profile celebrities in attendance in Dubai in 2013. The couple, together has two girls (Isabella and Olivia Idibia) while 2Bbaba has 7 children in total; 5 kids from two past relationships.
